Hidepark is a grassroots open-space community and cultural centre established on a former illegal landfill in the city of Nitra, Slovakia. It has grown into a hub for cultural, ecological, and social activities, serving as a safe and inclusive space for diverse vulnerable groups within the city.
In February 2025 we began the first round of workshops promoted by the OASIS project to support the participatory design of 13 cultural centres and their artist residence programs. Tesserae is facilitating the exploration of the territories surrounding the centres, applying the urban reconnaissance methodology to the aim of fostering an holistic understanding of the neighbourhoods and the impacts that the project can bring on them.
What to do when doing is no longer enough? In June, the Fundaciòn Hogares welcomed our Senior Researcher Lorenzo Tripodi to contribute to the launch of a participatory process for a new post-hurricane recovery and resilience plan for the Alto Progreso and Coloso districts in Acapulco, Mexico.
The issue 68 of LoSquaderno dedicated to the theme “Loop” includes a short piece by Lorenzo Tripodi. The paper examines participatory processes as “loops of cognitive loops” and presents Tesserae’s Frame4Change as a recursive action system similar to a music composition approach.
Urbexplorers was the final multiplier event of the Erasmus project UrbEX.
