Riga Exploitation Meeting

IN-HABIT Riga Exploitation Meeting – Incubation program Y2

On June 12th, Tesserae’s researcher Luis Miguel Benavides participated in the second Exploitation Meeting of the entrepreneur incubation program of the Horizon 2020 project IN-HABIT. The event took place in Riga at the Agenskalns Market.

The aim of this event was to disseminate the work done through the four incubation programs (Córdoba, Lucca, Nitra, and Riga) and its potential to create a supportive ecosystem for social entrepreneurs locally. Additionally, it aimed to give visibility to the top-performing entrepreneurs from each city and promote networking opportunities and synergies by inviting relevant actors as guests to the meeting.

The event provided a chance to discuss cross-fertilization opportunities and how to support the ongoing development of these incipient business ideas. Among the pitched ideas were a company using Nature Based Solutions for the creation of green and edible façades, a photography studio specializing in pets, an educational platform for learning languages focused on non-native speakers, and a healthy refreshment company.

The organization of the event was a collaborative effort with Riga partners, Kalnciema Quarter, and the Baltic Studies Centre, who showcased the market as an example of a thriving business ecosystem and how entrepreneurship can bring innovative solutions to the city’s challenges. The event was also an example of cooperation within Work Package 5 with the preparatory and networking sessions moderated by Design for Change and Tesserae, in support of Bridge for Billions, which manages entrepreneur engagement through the incubation programs.

We are very pleased to see the ongoing engagement done in the cities and to tap into the inspiration that moves all these social entrepreneurs.
