Oasis Kick-off in Warsaw

Producing change through art residencies

Oasis is a new Creative Europe project led by the Other Space Foundation (Warsaw) with the participation of Tesserae providing participatory methodologies and research capacity. The project connects 14 European partners, and aims at realising 13 artists residence programs co-designed with local society.

During the four days event in Warsaw we had the opportunity to get acquainted with the amazing group of partners and their diverse local contexts and needs. These includes established cultural centers like Garage Moderne in Bordeax, theatres like the Bethlen Square Theater in Budapest, cultural organisations like Cultivamos Cultura and Geradora in Portugal, the foundation Campania Welfare in Napoli, Ngos like One Caucasus in Georgia and Today Art in Armenia, the Machaon project in rural Slovakia, and more. We will soon introduce each of these partners with their project, as Tesserae researchers will be visiting all the locations, supporting the partners in developing local research, need assessment and participatory design. This phase will culminate in the delivery of a call for residences aimed at artists who will contribute to the projected beneficial change in each place. Stay tuned for learning about an amazing array of projects for culture driven local regeneration!
