Technology and its impact on urban and domestic space – BASE Milan

We  take part to the seminar organised by Milano Bicocca University and Che Fare next November 11.

As we are all very well aware, technology is changing the way we live our lives, from smart phones to social media, they are having positive and negative impacts on cities, space and people. On the one hand, technology can be used as a tool to map spatial potentials, and to create/reinforce social capital. On the other hand, websites such as Airbnb, are drastically changing the way people view and use their domestic spaces; as the story line of the sharing economy promises much, but creates drastic results to the border we’ve imagined for very long time about what is public and what is private. In this seminar we would like to examine the long hands of technology and how long those hands can stretch, and change our daily lives.

Introduction: Roei Bachar and Jim MacNeil
Discussants: Marco Gui, Giorgio de Michelis (UNIMIB), Lorenzo Tripodi (Tesserae, Berlin)
Moderation: Andrea D. Signorelli

When: 11/10/2018, ore 18:30-20:00
Where: BASE   via bergognone 34,20144, milano, italia
