Campus Kid - San Lazzaro di Savena

San Lazzaro di Savena recently subscribed an agreement with Emilia Romagna Region about the implementation of “Campus KID” urban renewal program. It concerns the renovation of an existing public multifunctional area located in the city centre overing an area of about 100.000 square meters. Currently the area hosts a school, the city stadium and the swimming pool. The project envisions the total reconstruction of existing structures with the inclusion of more facilities. An innovative concept is foreseen to integrate educational, cultural and leisure function in an intergenerational campus. The inclusion of the a theatrical venue guesting the local is part of the project.

The master plan for the KID campus has been created though a participative process with all the main stakeholders, including schools and children. The next step for the implementation is the issuing of a public call for the design of the area, to which will be invited three teams of architects. San Lazzaro is currently Lead Partner of the URBACT III Implementation Network ReGeneration, that will support the implementation of this strategy trough competence building and international best practice exchanges.
